Superb and to the point ( As Ever ) - I notice how ' Maxmark ' in his initial comment , noted that what you had to say was - " A Bit Gloomy " . Yes , somewhat ' BUT ' it is a truism that " The Truth " as in this context more than often , if not almost certainly - " Hurts " . Far better though to know what's lurking around the corner in order that we can all prepare as best as possible - rather than be " Wise After The Fact " and not have done anything by way of protection .

Alasdair, listening to your interview with our friends in Australia, you mention that none of the politicians have a coherent plan for fixing the American economy. What would you advise whoever wins the American election in this regard? Thanks

Balance the budget by cutting spending. That would be a start!

Quite so , none of " The Politicians " ( Nigel Farage & a handful of others apart ) have any

" Coherent Plan " to fix any of their economy's ( US / UK / Eurozone / Aus - et al that you're alluding to . They are instead following an age old plan of their ' Establishment Paymasters '

to take down their economy's - stealing , impoverishing and robbing we ' The Little People '

of all of our freedoms and civil liberty's along the way . This is - " Plain as a Pikestaff " as all of us with our minds and eyes wide open can all too clearly see . A rough ride awaits us all ..!!

" A Bit Gloomy " - YES , but 100% truthful & 100% factually correct . ' IF ' you're tied to the rail tracks - better to see the lights of the express train as it enters the other end of the tunnel and be able to do something to save yourself - than only noticing the locomotive as it's almost upon you ....??

Maybe better to have a scotch on the rocks when you see those lights Simon, lol

I think I'll wait for the Scotch on the Rocks when I'm " Free in a single mighty bound " ( as per Batman - The Original ) and can see the lights on the rear of the Caboose disappear into the Ravine .

It's not just London. As I've been writing about the shorts on Comex and the continual stand for deliveries on Comex this time we face a paper crisis.
